Palmetto Bay, FL (August 31, 2026) – A Saturday morning collision killed a man after the pickup truck he was driving collided head-on with a flatbed semi-trailer in Palmetto Bay. The fatal accident happened around 6:37 a.m. on August 29, at US 1 and SW 184th Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge pickup struck the flatbed semi-trailer at the intersection. The impact caused a small fire in the pickup’s engine compartment. The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity had not been released in the available information.
The semi-trailer driver was not injured in the collision. US 1 was temporarily closed between SW 183rd Street and SW 186th Street while the scene was investigated and cleared. Our condolences go out to the deceased man’s family, friends, and loved ones.
