Palmetto Bay, FL (August 31, 2026) – A Saturday morning collision killed a man after the pickup truck he was driving collided head-on with a flatbed semi-trailer in Palmetto Bay. The fatal accident happened around 6:37 a.m. on August 29, at US 1 and SW 184th Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a Dodge pickup struck the flatbed semi-trailer at the intersection. The impact caused a small fire in the pickup’s engine compartment. The pickup driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity had not been released in the available information.
The semi-trailer driver was not injured in the collision. US 1 was temporarily closed between SW 183rd Street and SW 186th Street while the scene was investigated and cleared.
