Portsmouth, OH (June 23, 2026) – The Police reported that a 50-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a head-on crash on Dry Run Road in West Portsmouth on Sunday, June 21.
Preliminary findings indicate Jeffrey A. Hammonds of West Portsmouth was traveling northwest on Dry Run Road when a vehicle traveling southeast crossed the centerline and struck the motorcycle head-on. Hammonds suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Additional responders assisted at the scene while the crash was investigated and cleared. We extend our sincere condolences to the family of Hammonds.
