We extend our sincere condolences to Torrez’s family and loved ones, and wish the injured driver a full recovery.
Center Line Crossings Create Serious Head-On Collision Risks
Center line crossings can quickly become deadly because vehicles traveling in opposite directions have very little time to react. On highways, even a brief lane departure may place one vehicle directly in front of another.
Head-on crashes usually involve strong force because both vehicles are moving toward each other. The front of each vehicle may take the heaviest damage, and drivers or passengers closest to the point of contact may face severe harm.
Seat belt use is commonly reviewed after serious crashes because restraints help keep people inside the vehicle and reduce movement during impact. Road layout, lane markings, travel direction, and vehicle damage could also help explain how the vehicles came together. These details are especially important when a collision happens early in the morning.
