Philadelphia, PA (June 18, 2026) – A 23-year-old man died on Tuesday night, June 16, after a head-on collision involving a car and a van in Philadelphia’s Tacony neighborhood.
Officials said the accident happened just after 10:00 p.m. in the 7200 block of Torresdale Avenue. An Infiniti G35 and a Nissan NV3500 van were involved.
Two brothers were inside the Infiniti. The 23-year-old front-seat passenger, identified as Darius Santoni, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The 18-year-old Infiniti driver was listed in critical condition. The 42-year-old van driver and the van’s front-seat passenger were not hurt.
The police said the Infiniti was traveling northbound on Torresdale Avenue when it moved around a double-parked vehicle and entered the southbound lane. The vehicle then collided head-on with the southbound van. Detectives said speed may have been a factor in the wreck. Investigators are still reviewing nearby camera footage and other details related to the fatal crash.
