Monroe, MI (August 25, 2026) – One man was killed, and another was seriously injured on Monday morning, August 24, in a head-on crash on North Telegraph Road north of Hurd Road in Monroe County. The collision happened at approximately 10:00 a.m.
Investigators said a 48-year-old Flat Rock man was driving an SUV south on North Telegraph Road when his vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason and struck another SUV head-on.
The 48-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, an 83-year-old Monroe man, was taken to a hospital and was listed in serious condition.
The cause of the crash remains under review. We extend our sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the man who died, and we hope the injured driver makes a full recovery.
