Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do right after a car accident?
Check for injuries, call 911, move to a safe spot if possible, and exchange information with the other drivers. Take photos of the vehicles and the scene if you're able, and wait for police to arrive and document the crash.
Where do most traffic crashes happen?
A large share of crashes occur at intersections, where vehicles cross paths, turn, or stop suddenly. Clear sightlines, working signals, and full stops at signs can cut down on these collisions.
What injuries are common in multi-vehicle crashes?
Common injuries include cuts, bruises, whiplash, and sprains, though the severity depends on speed and the angle of impact. Even crashes described as minor can cause injuries that aren't immediately obvious.
