Chicago, IL (June 9, 2026) – A pedestrian is in serious condition after an SUV struck him on southbound Interstate 94 early on Tuesday morning and fled without stopping. The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. near the I-290 interchange.
According to preliminary information, other drivers on the road spotted the man lying in the roadway and called for help; those drivers tried to shield him by blocking the lane, but an SUV went around them and hit the pedestrian before driving away.
The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. No names or additional details about those involved had been released at the time of this report.
