What Details Are Often Reviewed After Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents?
Hit-and-run pedestrian accidents often require a review of vehicle movement, crosswalk placement, and visibility. When a driver turns into a driveway or parking lot, the path of nearby walkers can be especially relevant.
Marked crosswalks, lighting, traffic flow, and entry points may help show how contact occurred. Nearby businesses may also have cameras that capture the vehicle before or after the accident.
Medical records can help describe the seriousness of harm after a person is taken to a hospital. Investigators may also review debris, vehicle descriptions, and witness statements to narrow the timeline. In cases where the driver leaves, those details can be key to learning more about the vehicle and its direction of travel.
