Santa Ana, CA (September 3, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash involving injuries was reported on Tuesday, September 1, on southbound Interstate 5 at the 4th Street off-ramp in Santa Ana, Orange County.
The crash involved a blue big rig and was initially classified by the California Highway Patrol as a hit-and-run crash with no reported injuries. The classification was later changed to a hit-and-run with injuries after additional information was received.
A person involved in the crash was reported to be on the right shoulder of southbound I-5 near 4th Street. Emergency assistance was requested, and the incident was later closed by both CHP and the Freeway Service Patrol.
