Overturned Vehicle Crashes Often Lead to Serious Injuries
Crashes that cause vehicles to overturn can significantly increase the risk of injury for those inside. When a vehicle rolls over, occupants may experience multiple impacts as the car flips or lands on its side or roof.
Intersections such as Nichols Highway and South Carolina Highway 308 often see both local and through traffic, which can raise the likelihood of collisions when vehicles approach from different directions.
Transportation safety studies have found that rollovers, while less common than other crash types, are responsible for a disproportionate number of serious injuries. Factors such as vehicle speed, impact angle, and the type of vehicles involved can all influence whether a crash leads to a rollover.
Investigators reviewing these incidents typically examine roadway conditions, vehicle damage patterns, and witness statements to determine how the collision occurred.
