Frequently Asked Questions
Why is distracted driving considered such a serious risk?
Even a brief glance away from the road can prevent a driver from reacting in time to stop or steer clear of an obstacle, including a building or storefront along the roadway.
How do road and weather conditions play into crashes like this?
Wet pavement, poor visibility, and uneven road surfaces can all affect a driver's ability to brake or control a vehicle, sometimes contributing to a car leaving its intended path.
What should someone do right after a car accident?
Check for injuries, call 911, and stay at the scene until authorities arrive. If it's safe to do so, move away from traffic and avoid moving anyone who may be seriously hurt.
Where do most car crashes like this tend to happen?
Crashes involving a vehicle striking a building often occur on commercial strips with storefronts set close to the road, particularly near intersections or driveways where sudden turns or stops are common.
