Frequently Asked Questions
Where do most traffic crashes happen?
A large share occur at or near intersections, where turning vehicles, cross traffic and stop signs or signals create more chances for a collision than on a straight stretch of road.
What are common injuries in car accidents?
Side-impact and T-bone type collisions frequently cause injuries to the head, neck, chest and limbs, since there is less structure between the occupant and the point of impact.
What typically causes crashes like this one?
Common factors include failing to yield at an intersection, distracted driving, speed and limited visibility, though the specific cause of any crash is determined only after investigators review the evidence.
