Escondido, CA (August 19, 2026) – At least one person was injured on Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle collision on SR-78 near Summit Drive in Escondido. It happened around 7:50 a.m., near where the highway transitions into San Pasqual Valley Road.
A black Toyota Corolla and a dark gray Dodge Ram were involved, according to initial reports. Both vehicles came to rest on the shoulder, though some debris remained in the travel lanes.
A tow truck was requested to clear the roadway.
The cause of the wreck was not immediately known. We hope for a full recovery for everyone involved.
