Meriden, CT (June 23, 2026) – Several people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash along Interstate 691 eastbound in Meriden on Saturday afternoon, June 19.
According to reports, the roadway mishap took place around 4:14 p.m. between exits 5 and 3. One of the vehicles overturned during the chain-reaction collision. Emergency units worked in the eastbound lanes while crews cleared the roadway and assisted those involved.
The left and center lanes were temporarily closed as traffic backed up through the corridor. All lanes have since reopened. Police confirmed that injuries were reported, although the number of people hurt and the severity of those injuries were not disclosed.
The identities of the people involved have not yet been released.
Investigators are continuing to examine the factors that led to the crash and may provide additional information at a later time.
