Why Intersection Crashes Often Happen in Morning Traffic
Morning travel periods bring increased vehicle movement as commuters head to work and school. At intersections, drivers must quickly judge the speed and distance of cross-traffic, which can become more difficult during busy hours.
Even in clear weather, a moment of inattention or misjudgment can result in a collision when two vehicles enter the same intersection at the same time. Visibility, timing of traffic signals, and driver awareness all play a role in reducing crash risk. Intersections in smaller towns can still experience serious crashes when vehicles approach from different directions at higher speeds, highlighting the need for careful decision-making at every crossing.
