Pomona, CA (August 11, 2026) – Two vehicles were involved in an early-morning accident on westbound I-10 near Towne Ave in Pomona. The California Highway Patrol log placed the vehicles just east of the Towne Ave interchange.
The vehicles included a newer white Kia and a green Tesla Model 3. The Kia came to rest on the right shoulder, while another vehicle was reported blocking the carpool lane.
All westbound lanes were temporarily held while the vehicles remained in place. One vehicle later caught fire, prompting additional emergency assistance.
Emergency crews assessed the involved parties for injuries at the scene. The initial report did not confirm the extent of any injuries or identify the people involved.
