Jackson Co, IA (January 15, 2026) – A rollover crash on a rural gravel road in Jackson County claimed one life and left two others injured on January 13. The crash occurred around 2 p.m. on 33rd Street and involved a single vehicle that lost control while attempting to slow down near roadside mowing activity.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the vehicle overturned on the gravel road, leading to multiple occupants being hurt. Kaleb Carder, 20, and Alexus Woodford, 24, both of Clinton, sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. Carder was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for advanced care. The third occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of family members. The crash remains under investigation, and officials have not stated whether speed, road conditions, or other factors may have contributed to the rollover.
