Jefferson County, FL (January 23, 2026) – A violent single-vehicle crash early Friday morning claimed the lives of two men and left a third injured in Jefferson County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred just before 1:00 a.m. along US Highway 90 near Abram Rd. Troopers say a pickup truck traveling westbound veered off the roadway and struck a tree, resulting in catastrophic damage.
A 46-year-old man from Tallahassee, who was riding in the backseat without a seatbelt, died at the scene from his injuries. The 21-year-old driver, a man from Dade City, was rushed to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
The vehicle’s front seat passenger, a 31-year-old Tallahassee man, survived the crash and is currently being treated at a local hospital. His condition has not been publicly disclosed, but he is expected to recover.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, including whether speed, impairment, or distraction were factors. FHP has not announced any additional findings at this time.
