Jefferson Co, MO (January 22, 2026) – A serious two-vehicle accident left a child and her mother injured early on Wednesday morning at the intersection of MO-30 and Delores Dr.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m., prompting a swift response from North Jefferson County EMS and other emergency personnel. A 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan, driven by an 18-year-old woman from House Springs, was headed eastbound when it failed to stop at a red light and collided with a 2018 Jeep Compass traveling northbound through the intersection.
A 32-year-old woman from Fenton, who was driving the Jeep, suffered minor injuries in the crash. Her 4-year-old daughter, who was seated in the vehicle with her, sustained moderate injuries. Both were quickly transported to Mercy Hospital South for treatment by North Jefferson County EMS.
Authorities confirmed that both vehicles sustained total damage and had to be towed from the scene by High Ridge towing services. The area was temporarily blocked during early morning commuter hours while crews worked to clear debris and investigate the incident.
Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop C are leading the investigation. Preliminary reports indicate that the Volkswagen’s driver ran a steady red traffic signal before striking the side of the Jeep Compass.
We extend our heartfelt wishes for a smooth and full recovery to the child and her mother, as well as support for all those impacted by this unfortunate event.
