JONESBORO, Craighead County, AK, Sept. 14, 2026 — A two-vehicle crash shut down all northbound lanes of U.S. 49 in Jonesboro Friday morning, September 11, according to authorities. Injuries were reported at the scene.
Jonesboro E-911 said the crash was reported around 7:20 a.m. near Nettleton Baptist Church, between Jonesboro and Brookland. Authorities said two vehicles were involved.
Emergency crews responded and treated people hurt in the crash. The extent of the injuries has not been released.
Arkansas State Police are investigating the crash. No further details on cause have been released.
The Arkansas Department of Transportation said the northbound lanes reopened at 9:57 a.m., more than two hours after the crash was first reported.
