Jupiter, FL (January 26, 2026) – A bicyclist was seriously injured Sunday morning after being struck and run over by a vehicle near the northbound lanes of the U.S. 1 bridge in Jupiter. The accident occurred around 10:08 a.m. near the intersection of North A1A and North U.S. Highway 1, prompting an emergency response from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
Upon arrival, rescue crews found the cyclist trapped beneath the vehicle. According to officials, the bicyclist had been struck, and the vehicle rolled over both the rider and the bicycle. Firefighters worked quickly to extricate the individual from underneath the vehicle and provided on-scene stabilization.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital as a trauma alert due to the severity of their injuries. No updates have been released regarding their current condition.
Northbound lanes of the U.S. 1 bridge were shut down following the collision and remained closed for several hours as emergency operations and the initial investigation took place. The town of Jupiter confirmed the roadway had fully reopened just after 2:00 p.m.
