Kingsport, TN (January 14, 2026) – A motor vehicle accident resulting in injury was reported Tuesday in the 200 block of Shelby St in Kingsport, raising concerns over traffic congestion in the surrounding area.
Authorities responded to the scene after receiving alerts of an accident with injuries—classified as a 10-46—along a stretch of Shelby St near downtown. Emergency crews arrived to evaluate those involved and provide care to the injured parties.
Paramedics assessed the scene and administered aid to at least one individual before clearing the area. Details regarding the severity of injuries or the number of vehicles involved have not been confirmed as of this time.
The crash led to slowed traffic and minor disruptions in the immediate area, with officers directing vehicles around the scene while responders worked. By early afternoon, normal flow was gradually restored.
