What Factors Can Contribute to Early Morning Highway Crashes?
Crashes that happen in the early morning hours can be influenced by several conditions. Lower visibility before sunrise may make it harder for drivers to see hazards or changes in traffic patterns. Fatigue can also affect reaction time, especially for those who have been driving for extended periods or have not had enough rest.
Road conditions may vary as well, depending on weather or overnight moisture, which can impact traction. Traffic levels are usually lighter at that time, but higher speeds can increase the severity of a crash when one does occur. Staying alert and adjusting driving habits to conditions can help reduce risks during early morning travel.
