Lawrence Co, MO (January 22, 2026) – A collision involving a commercial truck and a pickup resulted in injuries on Wednesday morning along State Route H, roughly two miles south of Freistatt. The crash occurred around 9:20 a.m. and led to the hospitalization of two men from Monett.
According to information provided by Troop D, a 2021 Freightliner traveling southbound was attempting to make a left-hand turn when it crossed into the path of an oncoming 2006 GMC Sierra. The pickup was unable to avoid the Freightliner and collided with its side, causing significant damage.
The GMC Sierra sustained extensive damage and had to be removed by Stop and Shop Towing. Inside were a 71-year-old male driver and a 66-year-old male passenger, both of whom were transported to Cox Hospital in Monett with injuries. Reports confirm that both were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Freightliner, a 68-year-old man from Kentwood, IL, was uninjured. His vehicle had minor damage and was towed from the scene by Silverado Towing.
Local authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision, which temporarily disrupted traffic in the rural stretch south of Freistatt.
