Why Motorcycle and Passenger Vehicle Crashes Can Be Severe
Motorcycle crashes involving passenger vehicles can lead to fatal injuries because riders have much less protection during impact. A helmet and riding gear may reduce some harm, but they cannot prevent every serious injury.
These crashes can happen quickly on roads where vehicles enter, turn, or cross traffic. A motorcycle’s smaller profile may also make it harder to see in some traffic conditions.
After a serious motorcycle crash, emergency units often check for head trauma, broken bones, internal injuries, and severe bleeding. If another person is hurt, hospital care can help determine the full extent of injuries and whether more treatment is needed.
