Frequently Asked Questions
What should I do immediately after a car accident?
Try to move to a safe spot if possible, call 911, and avoid moving anyone who may be seriously hurt unless there's an immediate danger like fire. Wait for trained responders to handle extrication if someone is trapped.
Why is distracted driving so dangerous?
Taking your eyes or attention off the road for even a few seconds cuts down reaction time, which can turn an avoidable close call into a serious crash.
How do weather and road conditions contribute to crashes?
Wet, icy or poorly lit roads reduce traction and visibility, making it harder for drivers to stop or react in time, especially at intersections.
Where do most traffic accidents happen?
Intersections see a large share of crashes because of turning vehicles, cross-traffic and varying speeds coming together in one spot.
