The home sustained heavy damage and cannot be lived in for now. Family and friends are reportedly helping the displaced residents find a place to stay. The cause remains under investigation by the Lockport Township Fire Protection District and MABAS 19 fire investigators, who said the blaze does not appear suspicious at this time.
We hope everyone who was hurt makes a full and speedy recovery.

What to Do After a House Fire in Lockport, Illinois
Anyone displaced by a fire should get checked out medically, even for minor scrapes or smoke exposure, since symptoms can show up later. It helps to request a copy of the fire department's incident report for insurance purposes and to document damage with photos before cleanup begins. Reach out to local relief organizations or township resources if temporary housing is needed, and keep receipts for any emergency expenses. Follow up with the fire district if the cause of the fire is still being determined, since that finding can matter for insurance claims.
