Long Beach, CA (January 22, 2026) – A traffic collision involving injuries was reported near the intersection of E Atherton St and N Britton Dr in Long Beach on January 21, with authorities investigating the possibility of DUI and reckless driving behavior at the time of the crash.
Emergency crews were dispatched following reports of a black Lexus sedan with white rims possibly involved in a street takeover or exhibition of speed. Witnesses described the vehicle producing black smoke before leaving the area westbound on 58th Way. The incident was flagged under California Vehicle Code 23152, indicating a suspected DUI.
Paramedics responded to the scene to evaluate those injured, although the number and condition of the victims have not yet been publicly confirmed. The vehicle reportedly had tinted windows, and the license plate was unreadable or from an unknown state.
