Los Angeles, CA (January 9, 2026) – A three-vehicle collision resulted in injuries Tuesday afternoon on northbound Interstate 5 just north of Calzona St, prompting a response from both the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash was reported shortly after 12:00 p.m. and involved a gray Nissan Sentra, a gray Lexus, and a white pickup truck. Initial reports classified the incident as non-injury, but it was quickly upgraded to an injury collision (CHP code 1141) after injuries were confirmed at the scene.
Emergency crews responded to assess and assist the injured. At least one person required medical attention, though the extent of the injuries has not yet been disclosed. The vehicles were blocking the slow lane, and traffic in the area was significantly impacted.
CHP units worked to manage the scene and hold traffic in the #5 lane as efforts to clear the roadway were underway. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
