How Vehicles Can Lose Control at Night
Driving at night can increase the risk of losing control, especially on roads with curves, limited lighting, or changing traffic patterns. Reduced visibility makes it harder to see obstacles, road signs, and lane markings in time to react. Fatigue may also affect drivers late in the evening, slowing reaction time and awareness.
Speed and unfamiliar road layouts can further increase the chance of a vehicle leaving the roadway. When a car departs from its lane, fixed objects like poles or trees often become points of impact. Staying alert, reducing speed, and using headlights properly can help lower the risk of nighttime crashes.
