Louisville, KY (January 12, 2026) – Emergency crews were called to a serious crash involving a large commercial truck and a dark-colored sedan at the entrance to the fairgrounds on Phillips Ln early on January 12. A young woman sustained significant injuries in the crash, including a suspected broken leg and facial bleeding.
The accident was reported around 6:13 a.m., and dispatch audio confirmed the victim was found on the roadway when responders arrived. EMS units were en route from the Okolona area and were tracked passing Poplar Level Rd and Indian Trail as they made their way to the scene. Police were also dispatched, and fire personnel were placed on standby in case additional support was needed.
The vehicles involved, a white commercial truck and a Chevy Malibu, reportedly collided near the fairgrounds entrance. The extent of vehicle damage has not yet been disclosed, but the severity of the injuries prompted an urgent medical response.
While crews were managing the scene, separate reports emerged of a Chevy Malibu fleeing a traffic stop on I-65 northbound near mile marker 134. That vehicle was also described as having a temporary tag and was allegedly involved in an officer impersonation incident earlier that morning. It has not been confirmed whether the two incidents are related.
Authorities continue to investigate both the crash and the reported impersonation case. Updates are expected as more information becomes available.
We extend our thoughts to the injured woman and hope for a full and swift recovery.
