How Are Injuries Evaluated After a Serious Two-Vehicle Collision?
After a major two-vehicle collision, medical teams typically evaluate everyone involved, even when symptoms appear minor at first. Some injuries, particularly those involving the head, neck, or internal organs, may not be immediately obvious and can become more noticeable over time.
Doctors often use physical examinations, imaging scans, and ongoing observation to determine the extent of harm. Injury severity is commonly classified into categories such as minor, moderate, or major based on the type of trauma and the level of medical care required.
In crashes involving multiple occupants, healthcare providers also assess each person separately because the forces experienced inside a vehicle can vary depending on seating position, restraint use, and the nature of the roadway contact. These evaluations help guide treatment decisions and provide a clearer picture of the overall effects of a serious traffic collision.
