Philadelphia, PA (June 24, 2026) – A 69-year-old man died after a house fire spread through multiple homes on Percy Street in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood on Monday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to the 3600 block of Percy Street shortly before 1 p.m. for a report of a fire with someone trapped inside. Officials later confirmed that Barry Turner was found dead inside the home where the fire began.
Police said the fire was intentionally started and spread to neighboring homes. Natasha Teague, 38, was arrested and charged in connection with the fatal fire.
The flames affected several properties and displaced seven families, totaling about 27 people. The Red Cross is assisting those who were forced from their homes.
Neighbors described hearing cries for help and attempts to reach Turner before fire conditions became too dangerous. Additional details about the circumstances leading to the fire remain under review.
