Randallstown, MD (July 16, 2026) – A 60-year-old man died early on Tuesday morning, July 14, after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Liberty Road near Old Court Road in Randallstown. The crash was reported at approximately 4:45 a.m.
John Bates Sr. was crossing Liberty Road when he was struck by a 2025 Hyundai Elantra traveling eastbound. He was found with life-threatening injuries and airlifted to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver initially left the scene but returned a short time later. No further details about the driver or the circumstances leading up to the accident were included in the initial report on the wreck. The crash is being investigated by the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team.
