McCracken County, KY (January 23, 2026) – A tragic two-vehicle collision on Oaks Rd claimed the life of one driver and left multiple others injured early on Wednesday morning, January 21, in McCracken County.
The accident occurred on the 21st shortly after 7 a.m. at the intersection of Oaks Rd and Shemwell Ln. According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Amanda Beck was traveling southbound along a curve on Oaks Rd when her vehicle reportedly lost traction on a patch of ice. Her vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and collided with an oncoming car driven by Alicia Andersson.
Following the crash, Andersson was transported to an out-of-state hospital but later died as a result of her injuries.
Beck and her juvenile passenger were taken to a local hospital. Due to the severity of the juvenile’s injuries, they were later transferred to an out-of-state facility for further treatment. The sheriff’s office described the child’s injuries as incapacitating.
Emergency crews from Reidland-Farley Fire, Mercy Regional Ambulance, and McCracken County DES responded to the scene, along with assistance from Vanzant’s Towing and the McCracken County Coroner, Amanda Melton. An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
