Memphis, TN (January 21, 2026) – Emergency responders from Memphis Fire and Rescue were called to the scene of a traffic collision with injuries that took place Tuesday afternoon on I-240 South near the Union Ave exit.
The accident occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m., around 12:53 p.m., and involved multiple vehicles on the southbound side of the interstate. Paramedics and fire crews quickly responded to the scene, where they assessed and treated individuals hurt in the crash. A variety of injuries were reported, though the specific number of victims and the severity of their conditions have not been confirmed.
The collision caused significant disruption to midday traffic, with several lanes temporarily blocked as crews worked to assist the injured and clear the scene. At least one person was transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation.
