Memphis, TN (January 20, 2026) – Emergency responders were called to a multi-vehicle crash that left several people injured Monday afternoon on a busy stretch of I-40 in Memphis.
The accident occurred at approximately 4:37 p.m. on January 19 along the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the intersection with N Germantown Pkwy. Emergency medical services and fire crews from Memphis Fire and Rescue arrived swiftly, working to assist those suffering from injuries at the scene. At least one person received treatment, though the total number of injured individuals has not been confirmed.
The crash involved multiple vehicles and created significant traffic delays as crews worked to assess the situation and secure the roadway. Authorities temporarily closed portions of the westbound lanes to provide space for medical aid and an initial investigation.
