Authorities said neither driver is suspected of impairment. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities continue to investigate the crash, and more details will be released as they become available.
Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased.
How Intersections and Substation Driveways Can Increase Crash Risks
Collisions at substation driveways or other industrial entrances often occur when vehicles are turning across active traffic lanes. Limited sightlines, large vehicles, and unusual turning paths can make it difficult for drivers to judge distances and timing.
Utility trucks may also carry heavy or extended equipment, which can increase the severity of an impact. Even a low-speed collision can cause significant damage when objects like poles are involved.
Drivers traveling on main roads near these entrances are encouraged to stay alert, reduce speed, and watch for vehicles entering or exiting driveways. Awareness of surrounding traffic can help reduce the risk of serious accidents.
