Slowing down near intersections, scanning both sides of the road before turning, and staying off phones are basic steps that help drivers spot pedestrians and cyclists in time to stop.
What injuries are common in pedestrian and bicycle crashes?
These crashes frequently cause broken bones, head injuries, and internal injuries, since the person on foot or on a bike has no protection from the impact.
