Metairie, LA (January 23, 2026) – A cyclist sustained injuries on Thursday morning, January 22, following a traffic collision involving a white car on Airline Dr near Bellevue Pkwy in Metairie.
The accident occurred along the eastbound side of Airline Dr, according to updated reports from responding units. Emergency crews from Engine 138 and medical personnel were dispatched after callers reported a bicyclist struck by a vehicle in the area.
Upon arrival, first responders found one victim on the ground, complaining of neck and elbow pain. EMS was promptly notified and responded to provide further medical assistance at the scene. The cyclist’s condition has not yet been officially released, but responders indicated that the injuries required evaluation and treatment.
State police were also advised and confirmed to have units en route to assist with the incident. Traffic in the area was impacted as emergency services worked to stabilize the scene and ensure the safety of all involved.
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is currently underway.
