Miami-Dade County, FL (April 1, 2026) – A construction worker was seriously injured on Monday night, March 30, after a water main rupture flooded a tunnel at a job site near Southwest 120th Avenue and 220th Street in Miami-Dade County. The incident was reported around 10:22 p.m.
Emergency units responded after the worker became trapped underground for several minutes. According to reports, the man was knocked unconscious during the flooding incident before co-workers pulled him from the tunnel and began CPR.
He was then taken by ambulance to a trauma center for further treatment. No additional details about his current condition have been released.
