According to information from the California Highway Patrol, the roadway was affected shortly before 12:40 p.m. Initial reports indicated two vehicles were in the far-right lane. As details emerged, officials determined that as many as six vehicles may have been involved.
Vehicles mentioned in the report included a white Mini, a gray Subaru WRX, a gray SUV, a silver vehicle, and other passenger vehicles. One vehicle owner reportedly planned to make their own towing arrangements. The northbound lanes near 6th Ave were affected, and 6th Ave was temporarily blocked while crews worked in the roadway.
Emergency units were dispatched to assist. The report indicated three vehicles required towing. Further details about the collision were not available at the time of publication.
