The collision reportedly involved a motorcycle, a Mazda CX-50, and a sedan described as either Toyota or a similar model.
The California Highway Patrol said the crash was initially reported as a hit-and-run involving injuries. Radio traffic indicated the motorcycle went down and blocked a lane of traffic, and the rider was described as walking briefly before lying back down in the center divider. Investigators noted the Mazda also came to rest in the center divider following the collision.
