Our condolences go out to the family of Derek Schwarting.
How Medical Emergencies Can Lead to Multi-Vehicle Crashes
When a driver experiences a sudden medical emergency, control of the vehicle can be lost instantly, creating a high risk for collisions. Intersections are especially dangerous because vehicles are often stopped or moving in multiple directions, increasing the chance of multiple impacts.
The severity of injuries in multi-vehicle crashes can vary depending on speed, impact angle, and the number of vehicles involved. Even drivers who are not directly struck may be injured due to sudden braking or secondary collisions. Emergency response teams play a critical role in providing care quickly and securing the scene to prevent further accidents.
