Frequently Asked Questions
Does speed affect whether people survive a crash?
Yes. Higher speeds give drivers less time to react and increase the force of impact, which raises the chance of serious or fatal injury.
Why does wearing a seat belt matter so much in a crash like this?
A seat belt keeps an occupant from being thrown from the vehicle or slammed into the interior during a sudden spin or collision, which lowers the risk of severe injury.
What should a family do after a fatal crash?
Families typically can request a copy of the official crash report from the investigating agency and may want to keep records of any communications with police or insurers as the case develops.
How do investigators determine what caused a fatal crash?
Investigators usually examine the vehicles, the roadway, any available camera footage, and witness accounts to reconstruct how the crash occurred before releasing findings.
