How High-Speed Lane-Switching Crashes Can Escalate Quickly on Freeways
Freeway interchanges like Interstate 8 and Interstate 15 often involve heavy merging traffic, which can increase the risk of collisions when drivers change lanes at high speeds. Sudden swerving or loss of tire control can quickly lead to a chain reaction, especially when multiple vehicles are traveling close together.
When a vehicle overturns, it can block multiple lanes and create secondary hazards from debris scattered across the roadway. Hit-and-run cases add further complexity, as investigators must rely on vehicle damage patterns, witness statements, and roadway footage to identify all parties involved. Even minor injuries can become serious in high-speed freeway environments due to the force generated during impact and rollover events.
