Why Motorcycle Collisions Often Result in Serious Injuries
Motorcycle crashes frequently lead to more severe outcomes because riders have less physical protection compared to occupants inside enclosed vehicles. Even low-speed impacts can cause significant harm depending on how and where the motorcycle is struck.
Intersections and roadway crossings are common locations for these types of crashes, as drivers may misjudge distance or fail to see an approaching motorcycle. Investigators often review roadway design, sightlines, and vehicle movement patterns to understand how the collision occurred. Helmet use and road conditions may also factor into the severity of injuries sustained in these incidents.
