Phelps Co., MO (August 27, 2026) – Two people were injured on Tuesday morning, August 25, in a crash on County Road 3060 east of Highway V in Phelps County. The collision happened at approximately 7:25 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an eastbound Harley-Davidson motorcycle crossed the center of the roadway and struck a westbound Ford Escape.
The 34-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was flown to the University of Missouri Hospital. The 23-year-old Ford driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Phelps Health by private vehicle.
Both vehicles were listed as totaled and were towed from the scene. Authorities continue reviewing the crash.

When a motorcycle crosses into opposing traffic, the rider may face a direct impact with a larger vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The combined closing speed can make these collisions especially forceful.
