Why Curves Can Be Dangerous for Motorcycle Riders
Motorcycle riders often face added risks when traveling through curved sections of roadway. Curves can reduce visibility and leave less room for correcting speed or steering mistakes. Uneven pavement, loose gravel, or curbs near driveways may also increase the chance of losing control.
Riders are generally encouraged to slow down before entering a curve instead of braking sharply during a turn. Proper tire condition and road awareness can also help improve stability. Protective gear, including helmets and riding jackets, may lessen the severity of harm during a fall.
After a serious motorcycle wreck, investigators often review roadway design, weather, vehicle movement, and physical evidence from the roadway. Medical findings and motorcycle damage can also help provide a clearer picture of how the sequence unfolded.
