Oldtown, MD (July 28, 2026) – A motorcycle rider was hurt after a multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle on Monday morning on Route 51 near Oldtown. The crash happened around 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of Route 51 and Windego Lane.
Emergency units found a tractor-trailer hauling logs, a vehicle, and a motorcycle involved in the collision. The motorcycle operator was taken by air to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, while the tractor-trailer driver was taken to UPMC Western Maryland.
The medical status of both drivers was not immediately released. Route 51 was closed in both directions while crews cleared the roadway. The investigation into the wreck remains underway as officials review the circumstances. We are thinking of those hurt as they receive medical care.
